California Streaming

Built for the Golden State – CaliforniaStreaming. This is the story of how a consortium of California county offices of education collaborated to transform educational media so that they could inspire and empower California’s educators and students by creating CaliforniaStreaming, a massive collection of educational streaming media, owned and operated by county offices of education and delivered to educators and students throughout the state. Learn how you can participate in CaliforniaStreaming and help to provide educational digital resources that support our State Standards and passion-based learning.

Raising Social Awareness through Character-Building Picture Books

Come and be inspired by a knock-out list of character-building picture books! Author/Presenter, Kathryn Otoshi, will read and visually show how the power of picture books can build a strong, positive, motivated and socially aware school environment. Focus books: Zero (self-esteem, finding value), One (anti-bullying), Beautiful Hands (community outreach), Draw the Line (conflict-resolution). Handouts, posters and a book giveaway raffle at the end of the presentation for all session participants.

The World Book Online is a general reference database which includes KIDS for the lower elementary school grades, STUDENT for the upper elementary school grades, and ADVANCED for the middle and high schools. World Book’s ebooks will also be included in the session.
